The Graduate Program in Human Development Sciences has been awarded a rating of 7 by CAPES, corresponding to a level of national excellence with international reach. It is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to the scientific study of human development and its disorders, intended for professionals with academic backgrounds in Education, Psychology, Medicine, Speech-Language Pathology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Biology, Pharmacy, Law, Social Work, and related fields.

Lines of Research

I. Developmental studies and disorders in the clinical, cognitive, behavioral, and epidemiological domains, and their individual and social implications across different stages of life: conducting studies throughout development, with an emphasis on childhood and adolescence, including neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, socioemotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physical problems, and/or neuropsychiatric conditions.

II. Developmental Neuroscience: investigations into the basic neural mechanisms that determine or contribute to development and its disorders. This area encompasses studies involving human participants and translational research with animals, including the observation and recording of behavioral and molecular phenotype data.

III. Policies and service delivery models in education, psychology, and healthcare: study of national policies, specialized procedures, and public and private service programs throughout development, with an emphasis on childhood and adolescence, including neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, socioemotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physical problems, and/or neuropsychiatric conditions.
